First Night: A Whole New Whole New World?

[The bed seems off somehow. It's dark, but somehow the feel of it is off.

His hand stretches out and brushes against something furry. Abu must have fallen asleep on his bed again. He quickly pulls his hand back to avoid waking him, then pushes himself up off the bed. This is definitely not his bed.

He tries to crawl out of the bed... and his hand hits warm fur. A lot of it. Attached to something... big.

Very, very big.

So, he, being the stalwart hero he is, does what any brave, calm, resolute hero does. He yelps and jumps out of that bed like it was on fire.]

[Action]

[Later in the day, Aladdin can be found wandering around the village, staring in awe at everything he finds and generally looking as much like a new feather as one possibly can. Feel free to chat, or if you're feeling more malicious, feel free to test your deviousness.

Alternatively, there is a certain tiny thieving monkey running around, and Aladdin hasn't been united with him juuuuust yet. He may or may not grab anything shiny.]

[Suki is not a happy camper. Some stupid monkey-thing, not even a cat-monkey, just a PLAIN monkey, stole one of her fans, and she was chasing it down. She looked like an idiot, but she's wasn't going to let that monkey keep something that important to her.

The monkey rounded a corner, which is where Suki lost the stupid thing. She did, however, spot a guy.]

Excuse me? [She's in full Kyoshi Warrior uniform, makeup and all.] Have you seen a monkey with a gold fan around here?

[The woman in the strange armor certainly grabbed his attention.]

"Monkey? No, I haven't seen a-"

[He's interrupted by a familiar squeak, one that almost sounded like his name. And suddenly that same monkey, with that same fan, scampers up the side of a building and out of their reach]

"... Abu! What are you-"

[And then he puts it together.]

"Hey!"

[She looked at the boy in front of her.]

Abu? Is that its name...?

WAIT! Is that thing yours?

[Aang is a few shelves over browsing the wares... but here's Momo, the flying lemur, crawling along towards a particularly shiny watch that's hanging up to a shelf. He reaches up to grab it with his tiny claws.]

[Action]

[Well, Momo might be surprised to find that he's not the only one with designs on that watch. A tiny monkey of the more terrestrial variety is slowly slipping along the shelf, captivated by the intricate detail and the shiny golden gleam of it.

Aladdin, for his part, is a bit distracted to rein in Abu's covetous tendencies- he's staring at a broad and dizzying array of gadgets and devices he's never even seen before, trying to figure out what if any of it he could actually use for himself. It's not until Abu's little monkey paw hits Momo's paw that he realizes he has a rival, and he begins chittering irritably.

And then Aladdin's attention is aroused.]

"What's going on, Abu?"

[Action]

[Momo's not too pleased, himself, and he chitters back at the rival monkey while trying to tug at the watch.

Aang is drawn over by the attention as well.]

Momo? Are you alright?

"MONKEY!"

Yes -- a certain thieving monkey just stole Jack Sparrow's beloved hat. And a certain Jack Sparrow is certainly not happy about that.

Aladdin barely has time to look toward the source of the voice before a tiny form and a great fancy hat go zipping by at top speed.]

"Abu?"

[But before Aladdin can try and catch up to his furry compatriot, he manages to turn directly into the path of one hatless pirate.]

[there are eyes watching you, Aladdin, particularly if you wander near the fountain. You may not notice them, as they are tucked into the eves and windows of buildings, but nevertheless, a woman sitting on the fountain ledge and quietly reading her book seems to notice your arrival]

"Guess it's kinda obvious, huh?"

[He scratches the back of his neck sheepishly.]

"Hey. I'm Aladdin."

[Nel was just walking through town. She appeared to be distracted, but had her attacker been human, they would have been easily dealt with. As he was small, fuzzy and sort of cute, she hadn't expected that. Or to have her scarf stolen.]

Stop! Give me back my scarf, you thieving little mongrel!

[onejump]

[Aladdin glances at the source of the noise, and the thieving little mongrel suddenly jumps, clambers onto his shoulder, and hides beneath his vest.]

"Abu?"

[Chitter chitter squeak.]

[Action]

[Aladdin might have at first considered himself lucky that this very big furry thing is a fairly deep sleeper, and thus could not notice the few paddings he received from his unwanted companion.

But such luck runs dry when you decide to scream and make violent movements in said furry thing's sleeping quarters. And of course, as common sense would allow it, Beast is startled awake and jumps out of bed in a flail, a movement made much more magnificent in the consequential swoosh of his bedsheet as it is inadvertently pulled off the mattress.

As it is dark in his room, it takes his eyes some time to adjust - but he knows there is someone in there with him. It better not be a droid.]

Who's there? Show yourself!

[As luck would have it, Belle is moving past Beast's room while all of this commotion is going on. It's enough noise to make her pause in her steps and consider knocking to make sure Beast is alright.

But then she hears Beast shout, clearly talking to someone. Someone who should not be in there with him. Without stopping to consider, or even giving thought to the fact that she's still in her night gown, Belle rushes to his door and opens it, switching on the light as she steps inside.]

Beast? Are you alright? [She doesn't see the newcomer right away. Not until she catches motion out of the corner of her eye.] Oh my...Who are you?

[spohkh]

[Spock stalks through the village square with a dark cloud hanging over his head...

...well, not literally. But the Vulcan does look pissed in his non-emotional way. His badge has been stolen... again. Except this time it definitely wasn't a cat...
With his head down he nearly runs into a new-feather..]

My apologies... welcome to Luceti.

[Aladdin turns to see who bumped into him.]

"Oh, uh. No harm done, I guess. Thanks."

[My, you do look... severe...

...and also your ears are pointy...

Okay, no. No pointing out the pointy ears, that would be rude.]

"What's the hurry?"

[Maybe Yu was a bit of a dork; he still had his Yasogami High School uniform in the train bag that had followed him to Luceti, and of course he couldn't help but wear it every now and then. After all, he'd be going back to school in this place; why wouldn't he wear it?]

[Said uniform also had a pair of pins on the collar... a pair of shiny, gold colored pins, that might just be attractive to a certain little monkey. Yu did not notice, however; after all, who would think to look out for a thieving monkey, like the one currently reaching out for his collar?]

[Action]

[The monkey wastes little time in relieving the collar of its shiny, shiny pins, and promptly tucks them away into the vest, satisfied in a job well done.

And then stops dead in his tracks as one (1) irritated street-rat looms over him.]

"Abu, what are you doing?"

[Chitter squeak? The monkey grins sheepishly and shrugs.]

[Bulla was changing in the fitting room and had to take off her necklace in order to put on the new shirt she was going to try on. However, sometime between when she set her necklace down and took off her shirt to put the new one on, the necklace was grabbed. She pokes her head out from behind the curtain to see the monkey running away with her necklace.]

Hey!

[She hastily pulls her shirt back on and takes off after the monkey.]

Come back with that! That was mine from home, you little thief!

[Little what now?

Aladdin turned around and saw a tiny brown blur streaking away with something gold clutched in his hand.

... it couldn't be...]

"Abu?"

[ Kakashi was just minding his own business, flipping through the pages of his book on a bench when the sun started to shine right on him in a way that made the hitai-ate strapped to his forehead a little uncomfortable. A slight adjustment seemed to be in order, so he thought it would be a good idea to untie the thing and air it out a bit, flicking his wrist to wave the strip of fabric with its attached metal plate through the air.

And it just so happens to be that he was mid-wave when, out of nowhere, a fucking monkey appeared and grabbed his hitai-ate and made off with it.

So here's Kakashi, staring with a rather unimpressed expression in the direction of the monkey who's scampered off a good ten feet away with the thing already, and up a tree. It's too damn hot for him to chase after the thing, so maybe he might just kunai it and call it a day. Though, if that monkey is anyone's pet, that would make for an awkward encounter that would go something like, "Sorry, I killed your monkey because he stole my headband." Which probably wouldn't make for a good first impression when you're still pretty new in town and all.

He sighs wearily and gets up from the bench, heading slowly over to the tree with his hands in his pockets and stares up at the monkey. ]

You know, I really would like to avoid exerting any effort to get that back. [ He points up at the hitai-ate in the monkey's hands. ] But if you make me actually have to do anything in this weather, you're going to regret it.

[ Yeeeeeeeeup.

He's talking to the monkey like he expects it will understand him. ]

[The monkey squeaks down defiantly at the ninja, ties the headband on his own head, then blows a raspberry down at him.

Aladdin, meanwhile, is certain he saw that monkey around here somewhere. Don't mind the raggedy urchin wandering a short distance away, oblivious to the standoff currently in progress.]

[Action] and today in 'Luna opens things in tabs but forgets to tag them...'

[There is a monkey in his bag of groceries. There is a monkey in his bag of groceries and Emil's hands are full so he can't even swat it away from going for a Twix bar (can't he even bring chocolate home in peace?), just yell at it and hope that it drops his snack.]

H-hey, what are you doing? Give that back! That's my candy bar!
