First Night: A Whole New Whole New World?
[Action- Locked to Beast and Belle]
[The bed seems off somehow. It's dark, but somehow the feel of it is off.
His hand stretches out and brushes against something furry. Abu must have fallen asleep on his bed again. He quickly pulls his hand back to avoid waking him, then pushes himself up off the bed. This is definitely not his bed.
He tries to crawl out of the bed... and his hand hits warm fur. A lot of it. Attached to something... big.
Very, very big.
So, he, being the stalwart hero he is, does what any brave, calm, resolute hero does. He yelps and jumps out of that bed like it was on fire.]
[Action]
[Later in the day, Aladdin can be found wandering around the village, staring in awe at everything he finds and generally looking as much like a new feather as one possibly can. Feel free to chat, or if you're feeling more malicious, feel free to test your deviousness.
Alternatively, there is a certain tiny thieving monkey running around, and Aladdin hasn't been united with him juuuuust yet. He may or may not grab anything shiny.]

Aladdin, for his part, is a bit distracted to rein in Abu's covetous tendencies- he's staring at a broad and dizzying array of gadgets and devices he's never even seen before, trying to figure out what if any of it he could actually use for himself. It's not until Abu's little monkey paw hits Momo's paw that he realizes he has a rival, and he begins chittering irritably.
And then Aladdin's attention is aroused.]
"What's going on, Abu?"
[Action]
Aang is drawn over by the attention as well.]
Momo? Are you alright?
[Action]
[Aladdin tries to pull Abu away from the watch before he can grab at it, but Abu's a fast and wily monkey, and so Aladdin's hands close on air as Abu engages Momo in an irritable tug of war.]
"Abu, leave it alone!"
[Action]
Momo! Play nice!
[Action]
"Abu, it's not worth fighting over! Let go!"
[Unfortunately, all this accomplishes is an extra link in the tug-of-war chain.]
[Action]
[And so Aang steps up and tugs on one of Momo's paws, making the chain ever longer. But Momo refuses to give up this shiny thing just yet - he likes it!]
[Action]
"Abu, come on!"
[He gives Aang an apologetic look.]
"Sorry about this, he's-"
[He pauses as Abu nearly wriggles from his grasp, instead moving his hand to try and pry Abu's fingers from the package]
"-usually not this stubborn."
[Action]
[He looks towards Aladdin knowingly. Then back at Momo.]
But I think I can put a stop to this...
[So he reaches down and starts to... tickle Momo. The monkey gives some chittering laughs as his grip slips from the watch.]
[Action]
"And I don't think you need that anymore."
[He glances at the other guy. Shaved head, tattoos... certainly didn't look like anybody Aladdin had ever met before. But he seemed nice enough.]
"Nice work. Name's Aladdin."
[Action]
Thanks! I'm Aang. Nice to meet you, Aladdin! And this little guy here is Momo.
[Action]
[Having apparently mourned and moved on past the loss of the watch, Abu is now inspecting Momo curiously. Because Momo looks like a monkey. But not. What madness is this.]
"Hey, maybe Abu and Momo can make friends after all."
[Abu squeaks at Aladdin irritably.]
"...maybe."
[Action]
I've got faith in them. Maybe Momo will be less grumpy now.
[Action]
"So how long have you been here, Aang?"
[Action]
Don't freak out, but... it's kind of been about a year and a half now.
[Momo eventually makes his way down and holds out his hand, offering to give Abu a lift.]
Re: [Action]
[The color drains from his face.]
"I could be here away from my friends for that long?"
[Action]
[Action]
"Well... I guess it's not so bad... as long as I go home before I'm an old man."
[He so doesn't sound convinced.]
[Action]
[Action]
[... He's 18. That's like an eternity to him. But he puts on a show of bravado.]
"I can wait five years, if I have to. No sweat."
[Action]
[Action]
[He grins. And tries not to let the sudden loneliness show too much.
Five years away from Jasmine felt like an eternity.]
"So did any of your friends from home show up? Aside from Momo, of course."
[Abu, meanwhile, seems to have taken Momo up on his offer of a ride. Enthusiastically. Momo's no Carpet, but hey, he'll do.]
[Action]
[Action]
[He grins and glances up at Abu and Momo swooping overhead. Abu's chittering seems to be veering back and forth between excitement and terrified agitation.
Poor guy's not used to this kind of flying.]
"This place doesn't seem so bad aside from that."
[Action]
I guess you're right in that sense. But... There are still some bad things out there. The experiments the Malnosso do can be scary - and then there's the drafts.
