First Night: A Whole New Whole New World?

[The bed seems off somehow. It's dark, but somehow the feel of it is off.

His hand stretches out and brushes against something furry. Abu must have fallen asleep on his bed again. He quickly pulls his hand back to avoid waking him, then pushes himself up off the bed. This is definitely not his bed.

He tries to crawl out of the bed... and his hand hits warm fur. A lot of it. Attached to something... big.

Very, very big.

So, he, being the stalwart hero he is, does what any brave, calm, resolute hero does. He yelps and jumps out of that bed like it was on fire.]

[Action]

[Later in the day, Aladdin can be found wandering around the village, staring in awe at everything he finds and generally looking as much like a new feather as one possibly can. Feel free to chat, or if you're feeling more malicious, feel free to test your deviousness.

Alternatively, there is a certain tiny thieving monkey running around, and Aladdin hasn't been united with him juuuuust yet. He may or may not grab anything shiny.]

"Me? No. But I'm friends with a Genie and a witch. And I've had to fight a couple powerful sorcerer types lately."

I see. Nothing of that nature exists in my universe. Though I am certain that you will find many of those who are comfortable with magic in Luceti.

[Did Spock just imply that he was uncomfortable with it? Maybe.]

"Your universe doesn't have magic?"

[After a moment, he realized that thought almost seems strange to him now.]

"So... what's it like? Where you're from?"

That is... difficult to explain.

However, the simplest way is to understand who I am. I am Commander Spock, serving aboard the Starship Enterprise. It is an constellation class exploration vessel that has the capacity to travel at speeds faster than light.

[Spock looks at Aladdin... did you catch any of that?]

"... Starship? Like a ship that goes to the stars?"

[That's even possible?

Of course, he's reminded once again of Genie. Genie had done such things before, but Genie was... a special case. Aladdin had never realized just how many of the things Genie did were possible to normal humans.]

"And a... Commander. Are you a soldier?"

[spohkh]

'Goes to the stars' is inaccurate. Stars themselves are, for the most part, in a condition that is impossible to venture close to. By starship, it simply means that we have the ability to travel to the far reaches of space in which stars reside.

I am an explorer... The federation is not a military operation, but it does its fair amount of peacekeeping which does entail the occasional military engagement.

"... So you don't go to stars, you just go where they are."

[He laughs.]

"Sorry, it doesn't seem like a big difference when the highest I've ever gone is on a flying carpet."

[Spock blinks at him..]

Flying carpet?

[Usually he doesn't ask for repetition, because he has superior hearing, but in this instance he wanted to make certain that Aladdin knew what he was saying.]

"Yeah! Carpet is great. He's really friendly. And he can fly pretty fast, too."

[Aladdin has no idea how disturbing this must sound to Spock.

But his mun does. And he loves it. Mwahahahaha.]

Carpet is a sentient being? How does... Carpet communicate? [Spock wasn't sure how anyone could designate a gender to a carpet, let alone a flying one.]

You maintain a friendship with this flying carpet?

[Yup, you might have broken Spock's brain.]

"Yeah! Well, he can't talk, but he's still pretty expressive. And he always helps us out."

[He was astonishingly brave for a carpet.

As for the gender... he was taking Genie's word for that one. He figured Genie would know.]

You must reside in a very interesting world.

[Flying carpets eh? That was a new one on Spock.]

There is nothing like that here though, at least, not that I am aware.
[Did Traveler count? But he wasn't here anymore. Carpet and Traveler probably would have been best friends.

The Vulcan looks through the trees, hoping to spot the furry creature that stole his badge.]
