First Night: A Whole New Whole New World?

[The bed seems off somehow. It's dark, but somehow the feel of it is off.

His hand stretches out and brushes against something furry. Abu must have fallen asleep on his bed again. He quickly pulls his hand back to avoid waking him, then pushes himself up off the bed. This is definitely not his bed.

He tries to crawl out of the bed... and his hand hits warm fur. A lot of it. Attached to something... big.

Very, very big.

So, he, being the stalwart hero he is, does what any brave, calm, resolute hero does. He yelps and jumps out of that bed like it was on fire.]

[Action]

[Later in the day, Aladdin can be found wandering around the village, staring in awe at everything he finds and generally looking as much like a new feather as one possibly can. Feel free to chat, or if you're feeling more malicious, feel free to test your deviousness.

Alternatively, there is a certain tiny thieving monkey running around, and Aladdin hasn't been united with him juuuuust yet. He may or may not grab anything shiny.]

"What happened to me?"

[He glances at the large, irritable beast... named Beast... and adds,]

"And, uh... he's not going to hurt me, is he?"

[Action] IN WHICH STEALTHY SHENANIGANS ENSUE.

[... That wasn't a good sign. Did he notice something?

Best to assume he didn't notice anything. Yes. He leans down and scoops Abu up into his arms, and though Abu seems to appreciate it at first, he very quickly notices Aladdin stealthily and subtly rummaging through the pockets inside Abu's vest, while Yu was distracted. Abu tried to keep him away, but when Yu glanced back at Abu, the two very quickly played it casual.]

"Anyway, uh, I didn't catch your name."

[He deposits Abu on his shoulder- drawing the small pins from the little monkey's vest in the process- and offers his empty hand to shake.]

"Aladdin. I'm, uh, new in town. If it wasn't obvious."

[onejump]

[Yes. That was definitely Abu. Well, okay, the next thing he sees is something turquoise and red flying past. For a moment, he almost hopes it's the Genie, but no, it's definitely a teenage girl.

And she's chasing Abu.

And flying, which is a bit odd.]

"Abu! Come back here!"

[Abu chitters back at Aladdin in protest as he scampers away beneath the racks, and Aladdin promptly begins running after them.]

It is indeed. Hello, Aladdin. [he looks like he could come right out of Alabasta. Interesting. In fact his clothes are quite similar to a certain something else]

Do you, perchance, know this fellow? [and she moves her legs aside to show a certain simian, is resting pressed up against the fountain. If by resting you mean trapped by what looks like hands grown out of the ground, one pressed nicely over his mouth]

[Not even winded, she catches up to the monkey and the young boy before her.]

Where is he? I would like my scarf back.

Very well. How have you adjusted to Luceti so far? I have seen various reactions, though I must admit, you are handling it rather well.

[If Yu was suspicious, he didn't show it. Actually, his expression hadn't budged much past a neutral look, even as he accepted his hand.]

Narukami Yu. I've only been here a few months; I can sympathize.

[Bulla makes a grab for Abu's tail to stop him from running away. She'd normally be gentler with animals, but he's got her necklace, and it's one of the only things she has from home.]

You fuzzy little brat! It's rude to take things that don't belong to you. Bad monkey!

[If it seems odd for her to be scolding a monkey after flying through the store, it doesn't seem to register with her. But then, she is determined to get her necklace back. She glances back at Aladdin.]

So...Abu, huh? Friend of yours? He's not very polite.

"Wha-"

[Instantly, the friendly smile is gone.]

"Abu! What did you do to him? Let him go!"

"Scarf?"

[Another chitter emits from beneath Aladdin's vest.]

"Abu! Give back her scarf!"

[Abu, realizing Aladdin wasn't exactly going to have his back on this one, promptly tries to make a dash for it, but Aladdin nabs him before he can.]

"Sorry about him."

[onejump]

"It doesn't seem too bad. It was a little scary when they dropped me in a big furry guy's bedroom, but his friend talked him out of killing me, so I'm alright."

[Don't worry, Spock. After encountering an eight-foot hulking feral chimera, pointy ears and weird eyebrows barely register on his weirdness radar.

Besides, he met weirder back home from time to time.]

[she seems unfazed by his temper.]

He stole my sunglasses. I stole them back. Fair is fair, ne?

[the hands disappear into a burst of petals and the monkey is free]

So that's what those things were called. It's amazing how many things here he recognized from the Genie's strange magic.

... Oh, and also what?]

"How did you do that? Are you some sort of sorceress?"

[Meanwhile, Abu, obviously quite grateful to be free, quickly goes up to Aladdin's shoulder, squeaking at his former captor and shaking his fist defiantly.

From safely behind Aladdin.]

[Devil Fruit being largely nonexistent from anywhere outside her own world. Curious.]

[Abu seems surprisingly stubborn about this. Aladdin just puts his hands on his hips and scowls up at the little monkey.]

"You'll have to get down here sooner or later!"

[Squeak squeak!]

"... Come on, just give her back her fan!"

[Silence.]

"That's it, I'm coming up there."

[As soon as he figures out a way up. There's not much by way of handholds. Hmmm.

He starts with a window. It's not graceful, but hey, he can still climb it pretty well. No comments from the peanut gallery of course there should be comments from the peanut gallery]

[... Actually, yes, his face was almost too neutral.

Weird. It made him tough to read, actually. But hey, even somebody that serious would have reacted if something was stolen from them. Right?

"Nice to meet you. Yeah, it doesn't seem bad so far. People are friendly, the place seems quiet... all the food you could eat..."

[He laughs, and claps Yu on the shoulder, then tries to slip the pins into one of Yu's pockets without being noticed. Please work, please work...]

[Abu is fast, but he's not half-Saiyan fast. Just before he can reach the shelter beneath a shelf, he's stopped short by the hand on his tail, fingers scrabbling mere inches from the shelf before he turns back toward Bulla and grins sheepishly.

Aladdin wastes little time in catching up with them.

"... I'm sorry. He knows he's not supposed to take things he doesn't need."

[onejump]

[His immediate answer is yes. Al's experiences with sorcery, wizardry, and other forms of magical mysticism tended to end badly. And she had captured Abu.

... On the other hand, she let him go without a fuss. And he did try to steal from her...

Well, he clearly doesn't like it, but he says it anyway.]

"I guess not. Sorry he tried to steal from you."

It's nothing. He's rather cute when it comes to it.

[a hand blossoms out from the wall and attempts to tickle Abu under the chin]

Did you train him or did he train himself?

[Abu's immediate reaction is to try and run away from the hand.

Sadly, when it starts tickling him, it impedes his running, and he winds up giggling and trying to bat the hand away. Meanwhile, Aladdin begins relaxing by slow increments.]

"He learned to steal before I met him. It's kind of a long story."

[How cute! Have little monkey scratches as you are long forgiven and quite adorable]

It sounds like a sad life for a little monkey. But you take care of each other, ne?

[and she sounds a little wistful]

Yeah, I think everything is free here, even the housing.

[And... now his pocket felt heavy. Well, that wasn't subtle or anything; he almost missed it, and if the guy wasn't being a bit suspicious, he may well have. Without breaking his expression, he slipped his hand into his pocket, taking his pins out and idly snapping them back on as he continued.]

It's not bad, except we're trapped here, and no one's found a way out yet.

Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you.

[Bulla holds out her hand for Abu to return her stolen necklace with a little sigh. She may be moved by cute, but she's not foolish enough to let him go until she has her necklace back.]

Lucky for him, he's a cute little brat. He should be careful about who he steals from, though. Not everyone's going to let that slide...and it's kind of pointless to steal here anyway.
