[Jasmine doesn't know how long she was stuck in the future - a horrifying future, where every native of that timeline was not to be trusted. She witnessed friends, family, even herself living a deceived happiness absent of free will, and she was terrified her and the others stranded would suffer the same fate.
Then they managed the impossible: They retrieved all of the crystal shards. Just as Myrta promised, putting the crystal together undid everything, and within a flash, everything is finally back to normal.
Or so it seems.
Her first instinct isn't to go back home, to Princess Cottage - it's to go next door. Even then, she stops when she reaches the door. Where was Aladdin while she was stuck in a future of nightmares? Was it something even worse? Will it have... changed him?
No, she must see him, no matter what happened. So with a swallow, she raises her fist and knocks.]
[As soon as he's back in the present, he's already rushing home. He hasn't been there much for the past few weeks, but that's all over now. He has to find-]
Jasmine?
[...Okay, he wasn't expecting her to be at his front door. Actually he's kind of self-conscious, puffing and out of breath from hurrying home on foot- he didn't know where Carpet was, but he assumed Carpet would go find Aurora and Webby still.
But it means he has to lean against the cottage a little bit as he talks.]
[She spins around at the sound of his voice and just freezes in place. At first, his words don't even register, all she can think about is that it's him. The real him. The him who hasn't grown old with her in a life without free will.
Her him.
And then she realises what he said: Webby's okay. Webby's been found and she's okay. All of them are okay.
There's a wash of relief over Jasmine's face as she wonders whether to speak or cry for joy. Ultimately, she opts for both.]
Oh, Aladdin-!
[And she throws her arms around him, leaning into his frame as he's leaning into the cottage. She doesn't speak or even move her hands that much, she's just sort of taking him in - like she hasn't touched him in years. It's amazing how the thought of losing someone makes you almost discover them anew.]
[Without even thinking, his hand comes off the wall and his arms fold around her, not pulling her tighter to him, just resting around her shoulders and waist. He does pull back from her face a little to meet her eyes.]
[She stares into his eyes for a good long moment - clear, not glassy, the windows to his true soul - finally answering as she cups his cheek.]
I... I went ten years into the future, with Alice, Katsuki, Belle, Gumshoe... but we were all still in Somnius, and Vaeros... he'd hypnotized us, for good...
[The hand on his cheek starts to quiver, and the one still around him tries to pull him closer.]
Y-you and I, we were married... we had a child, but he was named after Vaeros! We all worshipped him! We were happy, but we weren't us! And we saw me as a traitor... Corrin, Aurora, I sent Webby after me, to take me to Vaeros, and he threatened to-!
[She grips his vest perhaps a little too tightly.]
I thought I'd never get back - that none of us would...!
[Oh, that sounded like a nightmare. It reminded him of Gregarius, and that wasn't something he wanted to be reminded of.]
Jasmine, that will never happen. How many people have tried to hypnotize us or make us serve them, and they've never succeeded.
[He offers her a slight smirk.]
I think that crazy old lady said that he was trying to do a spell and it backfired. Maybe trying to make us worship him was the spell. He already failed. And even then, he could never turn us against each other.
[As if in reassurance, he lightly cups her cheek with one hand and leans down, pressing his lips to hers in a gentle kiss.]
I know. We had to do anything we could to ensure it'd never come true. He can never take us like that.
[She's not arguing with him - obviously, they all returned safe, they succeeded in retrieving the crystal's shards. But she can't deny how assuring it is for him to remind her anyway, of just how much they've done to earn this future.
Their future.
So when he cups her cheek back, she can't help but give him a small smile.] Never.
[...The kiss starts gentle, but when Jasmine kisses in return it's almost out of starvation; it's much deeper and more urgent. And all this time, she never did loosen her grip behind him.]
Action; immediately after the timelines are undone
