First Night: A Whole New Whole New World?

[The bed seems off somehow. It's dark, but somehow the feel of it is off.

His hand stretches out and brushes against something furry. Abu must have fallen asleep on his bed again. He quickly pulls his hand back to avoid waking him, then pushes himself up off the bed. This is definitely not his bed.

He tries to crawl out of the bed... and his hand hits warm fur. A lot of it. Attached to something... big.

Very, very big.

So, he, being the stalwart hero he is, does what any brave, calm, resolute hero does. He yelps and jumps out of that bed like it was on fire.]

[Action]

[Later in the day, Aladdin can be found wandering around the village, staring in awe at everything he finds and generally looking as much like a new feather as one possibly can. Feel free to chat, or if you're feeling more malicious, feel free to test your deviousness.

Alternatively, there is a certain tiny thieving monkey running around, and Aladdin hasn't been united with him juuuuust yet. He may or may not grab anything shiny.]

[ Kakashi was just minding his own business, flipping through the pages of his book on a bench when the sun started to shine right on him in a way that made the hitai-ate strapped to his forehead a little uncomfortable. A slight adjustment seemed to be in order, so he thought it would be a good idea to untie the thing and air it out a bit, flicking his wrist to wave the strip of fabric with its attached metal plate through the air.

And it just so happens to be that he was mid-wave when, out of nowhere, a fucking monkey appeared and grabbed his hitai-ate and made off with it.

So here's Kakashi, staring with a rather unimpressed expression in the direction of the monkey who's scampered off a good ten feet away with the thing already, and up a tree. It's too damn hot for him to chase after the thing, so maybe he might just kunai it and call it a day. Though, if that monkey is anyone's pet, that would make for an awkward encounter that would go something like, "Sorry, I killed your monkey because he stole my headband." Which probably wouldn't make for a good first impression when you're still pretty new in town and all.

He sighs wearily and gets up from the bench, heading slowly over to the tree with his hands in his pockets and stares up at the monkey. ]

You know, I really would like to avoid exerting any effort to get that back. [ He points up at the hitai-ate in the monkey's hands. ] But if you make me actually have to do anything in this weather, you're going to regret it.

[ Yeeeeeeeeup.

He's talking to the monkey like he expects it will understand him. ]

[Action]

[He stares at the intruder defensively, still with his teeth clenched, but Belle's reprimanding starts to calm him down. After a couple more minutes, he huffs once more and then gradually relaxes his stance.] Fine.

[He moves over to stand closer to his housemate, looking back at the stranger, who he guesses is named "Al-add-in". What a strange name.]

Momo, come on! Be the bigger lemur here.

[And so Aang steps up and tugs on one of Momo's paws, making the chain ever longer. But Momo refuses to give up this shiny thing just yet - he likes it!]

Indeed, the Malnosso seem to have a rather disagreeable habit of placing the residents in precarious situations on a regular basis.

[Spock wondered though... big furry guy? There were very few that fit that classification...
...and really only one.

[She gives Beast a small, approving smile before answering Aladdin.]

No, he won't harm you. He's simply not a fan of surprises so early in the morning.

As for what's happened to you...that's a bit harder to explain. You are currently in the village of Luceti. It's run by people called the Malnosso who are in the habit of kidnapping people from other worlds.

[She watches him climb the wall, not so impressed.]

If I knew it would've taken you this long, I would've gotten it myself. [But she also knows it would be stupid for her to chase after Abu. He would've ran from her in a heartbeat.]

[She takes a good look at the miniature thief and sighs. It's obvious that her black and blue scarf is nowhere to be found.]

That's... alright, but he seems to have ditched my scarf along the way. There's no other way to get around this.

[onejump]

[... oh. Wow. Okay, yeah, he definitely, definitely noticed it.

Crap.

At least he wasn't mad?]

"I've heard something like that."

[Almost as an afterthought, he adds,]

"Sorry about Abu. He knows better."

[onejump]

[Abu seems resigned to his fate of being coddled by mysterious magic hands awful though it clearly is.]

"Abu's been my best friend since we first met. We always had each other's backs."

[He was starting to warm up to her. A little. Still, that magic made him shifty.]

[Action]

[onejump]

"Kidnapping? Oh, I don't think so."

[He cups his hands to his mouth and yells, suddenly and without warning,]

"GENIE!"

[onejump]

[The monkey squeaks down defiantly at the ninja, ties the headband on his own head, then blows a raspberry down at him.

Aladdin, meanwhile, is certain he saw that monkey around here somewhere. Don't mind the raggedy urchin wandering a short distance away, oblivious to the standoff currently in progress.]

[onejump]

"Yeah, I heard. No money. And he won't be stealing anything-"

[He snatches the necklace from Abu's hands and hands it to Bulla, the monkey helpless to react beyond squeaking in protest.]

"-while I'm around."

[Action]

[onejump]

[This tug of war chain is in full swing, with neither Aladdin nor Abu willing to give up the struggle.]

"Abu, come on!"

[He gives Aang an apologetic look.]

"Sorry about this, he's-"

[He pauses as Abu nearly wriggles from his grasp, instead moving his hand to try and pry Abu's fingers from the package]

"-usually not this stubborn."

[onejump]

"Yeah, the more I hear about these Malnosso guys, the less I like 'em."

[As to the second question, he's actually a bit... embarrassed.]

"The world I come from doesn't have nearly as much technology, compared to here. I guess you'd think we were pretty outdated."

[onejump]

"It's okay, he'll show us where he hid it."

[He gives a pointed glare to the monkey.]

"Won't you, Abu?"

[The monkey only sulks.]

Not at all. My Vulcan philosophies adhere to the standard of I-D-I-C... infinite diversity in infinite combinations. I am certain your world has accomplished much in its natural order.

[Spock does this in his most assuring voice... but it's still pretty bland and neutral.]

[onejump]

"You know-"

[He jumps up to the next windowsill and swings his leg up onto the small ledge.]

"-the attitude-"

[Climb. Jump. Hoist. Swing.]

"-isn't helping.-"

[Finally, he gets up to Abu's level, and the monkey looks up at him, then down- toward where the irritated young woman was waiting. Realizing his chances of keeping his prize are rapidly diminishing, the monkey leaps for the roof- only for Aladdin to lunge and catch him, swerving wildly away from the windowsill before he managed to grab the wall and pull himself closer.]

[With a slightly lowered head he gives Belle a soft smile in appreciation, listening more calmly to the explanation she gives to the-wait what why is he yelling?!

He covers his ears with an exasperated groan and gives Aladdin an annoyed look.] Wh-what are you doing?!

[Did she not just say he doesn't like surprises in the morning?]

Hey! You alright? [But now she's worried.]

"I'm okay! I'm okay."

[He flashes a cocky smile.]

"See? Piece of cake."

[He swipes the fan from Abu's grasp, then starts climbing down the building- slower this time, as if the near-fall has sobered him somewhat.]

[onejump]

"I guess. Agrabah's not perfect, but it's not bad, either. And the Sultan and the Princess really care about... the poor people."

[He almost said 'us poor people.' But that didn't really apply to him anymore, now did it?]

"Hey, he's my monkey, that made it my job, right?"

[He's not always the most responsible, but he does believe in cleaning up his own messes.

The monkey in question was in a full-fledged sulk at this point, as he followed Aladdin back down to the ground.

Once Aladdin made it to the ground, he offered the fan to the girl with a flourish, and almost as an afterthought, added-]

"I'm Aladdin, by the way."

[She smiled and happily took her fan.]

Thanks Aladdin. I'm Suki. [She tucks her fan away, where he's welcomed to notice she already has one there.]

[Well, that might explain why Abu thought she could afford to lose one.

Apparently the idea of a matched set hadn't occurred to him.]

"Nice to meet you. And I'm sorry again about Abu."

[The monkey gives Aladdin a Look, then grudgingly mumbles a squeak of apology at Suki.]

"If you don't mind me asking, what are those fans for? They look really nice"
